Classical Ballet

The roots of Imperial Ballet stem from the early days of the ISTD and the first written syllabus in 1913 was based on the teaching of the French School from the Paris Opéra. The syllabus has now evolved to promote the English Classical Style and address the changing needs of Ballet dancers today.

Classes stress strict authentic training in all fundamental techniques and traditional ballet movements. This discipline is the base on which all other techniques are built. Grace, poise, body alignment and self-discipline are incorporated in this professionally oriented class.

We run three twelve terms per year, from September to end of June, with Summer School held in July.
